President, CEO, and co-founder of Alsym Energy

Mukesh Chatter is a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience leading startups from launch to success. He currently serves as the President, CEO, and co-founder of Alsym Energy, a Boston-based battery technology company developing high-performance, affordable, and inherently non-flammable batteries for a zero-carbon future. Mukesh holds over 23 patents and co-manages NeoNet Capital LLC, an investment firm focused on groundbreaking ideas.

Previously, Chatter co-founded Nexabit Networks, a terabit switch/router company, and led it as CEO until its acquisition by Lucent Technologies in 1999, where he later served as Vice President and General Manager of IP Products. Mukesh was named one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs of the Year by Red Herring Magazine in 1999, and was named Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001.

In addition to the Board of Trustees at RPI, he also serves on the board of MarvelBiome, Inc., a developer of innovative therapeutics to address neuro diseases, and the governing board of the Center of Indic Studies at UMass Dartmouth. 

He earned his Master’s degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
