Eileen McLoughlin
The Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer enables and facilitates fiscal health and resource growth working within the framework of the strategic priorities outlined in the Rensselaer Plan. Enables through optimizing, leveraging and safeguarding Rensselaer’s financial assets during changing economic times, and maintaining a control environment where oversight and accountability are clearly articulated and consistently applied via new and revised policies and procedures.
Eileen G. McLoughlin is a highly experienced financial professional with over
30 years of experience in finance, with more than 20 of those years in higher education. She rejoined the Rensselaer Community in October of 2021.
Prior to rejoining Rensselaer, she served as the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the State University of New York (SUNY) System since November 2014, where she oversaw a financial portfolio with $25 billion in assets and a $12 billion all-funds budget for an enterprise of 64 campuses and three hospitals. Responsible for budgeting, controller, financial reporting, audit, enterprise risk management and compliance, and procurement and supplier diversity.
Prior to SUNY, she previously served Rensselaer for 18 years in finance and budgeting, her final position as Assistant Vice President of Finance and Budgeting and oversaw the financial analysis, planning, and budgeting of over $400 million for the Institute.
She began her work as a financial and marketing analyst at Garden Way Inc. and remained there for seven years. She then worked as a budget/cost accountant for Ellis Hospital and at Kaiser Permanente as a corporate marketing specialist/analyst before joining Rensselaer in 1996.
Ms. McLoughlin received her Master of Business Administration degree from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the State University of New York at Albany.
