Appointment of Lou Padula, Vice President for Human Resources

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Lou Padula as Vice President for Human Resources, effective August 12, 2024.

Lou has served as Acting Vice President for Human Resources since January 2023. Lou continues to lead his portfolio through a transformation with a focus on partnering with campus stakeholders to cultivate and nurture a healthy, vibrant learning community of professionals.

Prior to his acting VP role, Lou oversaw benefits and retirement, as well as HR’s information systems. Lou streamlined critical HR processes and introduced best-in-class retirement programs for all faculty and staff. He was also instrumental in the implementation of the first New Employee Orientation program and a new generation retiree health program for over 1,000 retirees.

Prior to joining RPI, Lou was vice president and trustee in the investment services division at Bank of America (formally Fleet Financial Corp.), and an actuarial, benefits, and compensation consultant with Milliman Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand, LLC.

Lou obtained his B.A. in mathematics from the College of St. Rose and his master's degree in management with a concentration in international business from RPI.

As we prepare to enter our third century, Human Resources will play a pivotal role in advancing RPI, and I look forward to Lou’s continued contributions.

Please join me in congratulating Lou on his promotion to Vice President for Human Resources.
