Robert P. Bozzone ’55, former chairman of the board of Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, began his career at Allegheny Ludlum as a metallurgist after graduating from Rensselaer in 1955 with his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. He was named president and chief operating officer in 1985 and chief executive officer in 1990. Allegheny Technologies is a technology-based manufacturing company.

Bozzone is a former member of the Advisory Board of Pennsylvania State University-New Kensington, a former chairman of the board of the DQE, and a former chairman of the board of the Pittsburgh Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He also serves on the advisory board of the Salvation Army, on the board of the Greater Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Pittsburgh Foundation. He is former chairman of the board of Water Pik Technologies and a former member of the board of Teledyne Technologies.
He is a member of the Stephen Van Rensselaer Society of Patroons of Rensselaer.
