Ms. Rajni Soharu appointed Registrar

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Ms. Rajni Soharu as Registrar. Ms. Soharu will begin employment with the Institute on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.
Ms. Rajni Soharu currently serves as the Registrar at the University of New Orleans. During her 13 years there, Ms. Soharu assumed progressively responsible positions in the Office of the Registrar. She began as the Assistant Registrar for Technology, and was promoted to Associate Registrar, prior to assuming the role of Director of Catalog and Curriculum. Ms. Soharu was then promoted to the position of Registrar in 2017, after serving as Acting Registrar in 2016.
As a seasoned Registrar, Ms. Soharu has led the implementation of Workday; upgraded the transcript system; revamped the appeal system; developed a procedures manual for the Office of the Registrar; and improved the certification processes for student athletes. In addition, she has served as the Document Manager; has managed commencement ceremonies; and has served on several campuswide committees.
Ms. Soharu is well versed in FERPA law, and has extensive experience with PeopleSoft, Student Clearinghouse, Credential Solutions Transcript system, OnBase, ER-Studio, DBArtisan, Ad Astra, Diplomas on Demand, Microsoft Project Management, Palisade Decision Tools, and PowerTerm.
Ms. Soharu is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering Management at the University of New Orleans. Her dissertation revolves around Project Management in Higher Education and how Curriculum Mapping can shorten time to graduate; improve graduation rates; minimize time conflicts; and optimize logical sequences of courses. She possesses a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of New Orleans. In addition, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering from Bangalore University, Bangalore, India.
