The Passing of Student Holly Liberatore
From the President's Desk
It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Holly Liberatore, a first-semester freshman majoring in games and simulation arts and sciences.
Prior to joining Rensselaer, Holly attended Putnam Valley High School in Putnam Valley, New York. Her interests were in programming and music, with a particular interest in independent games. At the 2020 Marist pre-college summer program for game design, she served as lead developer, producer, programmer, and musical composer for a final project called ROPE, a puzzle video game that received awards for editor’s choice, best audio, and best technology.
Counseling and grief services are available for students through the Rensselaer Counseling Center. An appointment can be made by contacting the Student Health Center at (518) 276-6479. Faculty and staff seeking counseling and grief support may contact the Employee Assistance Program by calling (800) 327-2251.
In addition, chaplains are available to provide grief counseling and support for anyone in the Rensselaer community. To make an appointment with a chaplain, you may call the Religious Affairs office at (518) 276-6518.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Holly’s family, professors, fellow students, and friends. We are all saddened by the loss of one of our own. Please support each other during this difficult time.
