From the President's Desk
I am writing to announce the resignation of Mr. Bruce Hunter, Executive Director, Office of Intellectual Property Optimization (IPO), effective Friday, August 13, 2021. Mr. Hunter has accepted a senior position with the University of California System to manage technology transfer and innovation partnerships.
Mr. Hunter was appointed as Executive Director to the Rensselaer Office of Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer, Commercialization, and New Ventures (IPTTNV) in 2017. I extend to him the very best, and ask you to join me in wishing him well as he joins the University of California System to begin the next chapter of his professional career.
As we begin the search for a new Director for the Office of Intellectual Property Optimization (IPO), I have asked Rensselaer Associate General Counsel Dr. Sandra Brown to assume the role of Acting Director of the Office of Intellectual Property Optimization, reporting directly to me as President. Dr. Brown has over 20 years of experience in the high-tech, software, hardware, pharma, and life sciences industries and has extensive experience managing intellectual property matters, including several innovative technology companies.
