COVID-19 – Confirmed Case on Campus

Yesterday we were notified that one of our graduate students, living in our housing, tested positive for COVID-19. The student was asymptomatic, is doing well, and will remain in isolation until cleared by the student’s health care provider.
The Rensselaer County Health Department completed the contact tracing protocol and anyone who has been in close contact with the student is being quarantined for 14 days.
The process we have taken is consistent with the T3SQ (Testing, Tracking, Tracing, Surveillance, and Quarantine) protocol that we will implement in the fall when activity resumes on campus.
We continue to follow the guidance of the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the New York State Department of Health, the Rensselaer County Health Department, and the World Health Organization (WHO).
All Rensselaer community members are encouraged to check the COVID-19 website frequently for updates regarding Institute policies, protocols, and communications.
