Mr. Philip Bruce Appointed Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Mr. Philip Bruce as Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Bruce will begin employment with the Institute on Monday, June 3, 2019.
Mr. Bruce is the President and CEO of Professional Development Resource Group, and is a national and international trainer in higher education and health care. He provides executive coaching, leadership training, and consultative services to executives in small to mid-sized corporations, and in higher education. Most recently, Mr. Bruce has provided leadership and project management services to Vanderbilt Medical Center, Medical University of South Carolina, Gordon State College, Southwest Baptist University College of Business, and Loyola University Chicago. Additionally, Mr. Bruce is a highly experienced career services professional with particular expertise in organizational development, talent management, student development, career preparation, and creating university-sponsored partnerships with external stakeholders.
Previously, Mr. Bruce served as Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development at Georgia Southern University. While serving as Director of the Center for Career and Professional Development, Mr. Bruce also served as an adjunct faculty member for the University. Mr. Bruce’s primary research interests involve the design and implementation of a student-centric Experiential Learning program that assesses and develops Emotional Intelligence (EI) in students for career preparation. In addition, he developed and implemented a Co-Op program that is one of 14 in the country to be nationally accredited.
Mr. Bruce holds a Master of Arts in Social Science Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography, from Georgia Southern University, in Statesboro, Georgia.
